“Rendezvous with Death”
by Alan Seeger

She does not hunt.
Does not chase glory through the stars.
No guns roar from her wings tonight,
no targets bloom on her scope.

She simply waits.
I have a rendezvous with Death
At some disputed barricade,
When Spring comes back with rustling shade
And apple-blossoms fill the air—
I have a rendezvous with Death
When Spring brings back blue days and fair.

Hull steady against the dark,
It may be he shall take my hand
engines whispering at idle,
And lead me into his dark land
a lone silhouette above the memorial,
And close my eyes and quench my breath—
holding position where others once burned bright.
It may be I shall pass him still.
I have a rendezvous with Death
On some scarred slope of battered hill,
When Spring comes round again this year
And the first meadow-flowers appear.

Liquid ozone rests in her bay
God knows 'twere better to be deep
like a breath held too long.
Pillowed in silk and scented down,
One command,
Where love throbs out in blissful sleep,
one spark,
Pulse nigh to pulse, and breath to breath,
and the sky will open.
Where hushed awakenings are dear...
But I've a rendezvous with Death
No covert flame,
At midnight in some flaming town,
no hidden signal swallowed by shadow.
When Spring trips north again this year,
This light is not meant to be secret.
And I to my pledged word am true,
I shall not fail that rendezvous.
The beacon answers.

A column of light climbs upward,
not violent, not wild—
but solemn,
like a candle raised against infinity.

Bright.
Unmistakable.
A standard cyno burning plain for all to see,
lit for one name, one soul,
so the stars themselves bear witness.

Capsuleers see it from systems away.
A quiet flare in the black.
A promise that someone remembers.

She is not a warship tonight.

She is a lighthouse.
A sentinel.
A marker in the endless void
saying you mattered… you were here.

Six hours pass.
Another pulse.
Another name carried in silence.

And still she stands watch,
unmoving, faithful,
alone but never lonely,
guarding the memory of the fallen
until the stars themselves fade.

TripTik012 Expedition Highlights

Clones may live and die by the minute in New Eden, but even their ephemeral lives need to be cherished and remembered. This TripTik would take you to the location where thousands of containers holding the remains of Capsuleers rest in the quiet orbit of Molea II.

Introduction

The Capsuleer Cemetery in the Molea system has had a long and storied history including its fight for its existence from those who sought to take it down. From its origin as a solo project to honor the fallen by Azia Burgi to its infamous desecration by JihadSwarm (More Info via EVENews), the Capsuleer Cemetery has gone through a lot.

Yet, it still stands today as a memorial for the lives of many Capsuleers who have graced New Eden. For more info please visit Imperium News, PC Gamer, EvE Travel, Molea News, Mark726 and Molea Cemetary relocated news

Every six hours, at 0600, 1200, 1800, and 2400 EVE time, the cynosural beacon above the Molea memorial emits a visible pulse, marking the passage of a fallen capsuleer. Its reliable timing makes it easy for visitors in any time zone to organize a cyno vigil. Anchored cans placed within 200 km of the monument will remain safely in place and will not disappear.

“Rendezvous with Death”
by Alan Seeger

I have a rendezvous with Death
At some disputed barricade,
When Spring comes back with rustling shade
And apple-blossoms fill the air—
I have a rendezvous with Death
When Spring brings back blue days and fair.

It may be he shall take my hand
And lead me into his dark land
And close my eyes and quench my breath—
It may be I shall pass him still.
I have a rendezvous with Death
On some scarred slope of battered hill,
When Spring comes round again this year
And the first meadow-flowers appear.

God knows 'twere better to be deep
Pillowed in silk and scented down,
Where love throbs out in blissful sleep,
Pulse nigh to pulse, and breath to breath,
Where hushed awakenings are dear...
But I've a rendezvous with Death
At midnight in some flaming town,
When Spring trips north again this year,
And I to my pledged word am true,
I shall not fail that rendezvous.
