Space Oddity is a mysterious signal that drifts through New Eden, a tribute by CCP to David Bowie. Some say it’s the voice of Major Tom, a lost explorer still adrift in deep space, broadcasting his song into the void.
You can track him using the crawler at the bottom of this page Eve Scout Rescue keep an eye out as it gets updated when he is found or reported to Signal Cartel!

Space Oddity is a strange signal that appears across all of New Eden—from highsec trade hubs to the farthest reaches of wormhole space. It’s never tied to any one region, system, or gate, and no one’s ever managed to trace its origin. The strangest part? It always sounds like a fragment of an old song—one that doesn’t appear in any known database.
Some pilots say it’s the voice of Major Tom, a Terran-era explorer who vanished centuries ago on a long-range deep space mission. His story has blurred into myth, but the song keeps playing—sometimes faint, sometimes loud—cutting through comms like a whisper from the past.
