Introduction
Athounon is best known as the center of the Serthoulde Campaign, where hidden EDENCOM and Triglavian facilities became the focus of a technological race between the empires. Discoveries made here helped shape the Shadow War and the development of modern shipcaster technology.
Locations
Located in the Serthoulde constellation of the Placid region, Athounon was once an unremarkable border system between Gallente and Caldari spheres of influence. That changed dramatically in the years following the Triglavian Invasion, when hidden EDENCOM installations, Triglavian relay sites, and secret research operations were uncovered throughout the area. Today, Athounon is remembered as one of the key locations that shaped the technological race later known as the Shadow War, linking the system forever to the origins of New Eden’s modern shipcaster era.
Although inactive today, capsuleers equipped with an Entosis Link can perform an intrusive retrieval scan against the EDENCOM Secure Relay. Fragmentary data recovered from these systems has revealed traces of EDENCOM operations, encrypted communications, and information connected to the events that later became known as the Shadow War. While most recovered records remain incomplete, the relay offers a rare glimpse into the hidden technological struggle that unfolded throughout the Serthoulde constellation.
