Introduction
Visit the Avalon Flotilla in Hirtamon, where in August YC128 a roaming Vanguard fortress found a home within Caldari space. Surrounded by warclone vessels among the system’s shattered rocks, the Avalon offers a rare opportunity to see the Vanguard beyond the battlefields of New Eden.
Locations
The Avalon Flotilla arrived in Hirtamon in August YC128, bringing the Vanguard’s roaming fortress into Caldari space. The Avalon was forged by the Vanguard to provide warclones with something few of them possess: a home. Around the immense structure, numerous Vanguard vessels have gathered among the shattered rocks of Hirtamon, forming a flotilla around their new refuge.
Its arrival in Caldari territory has attracted considerable attention.
Following Operation Avalon, AEGIS accused clandestine elements within the Caldari State of collaborating with Vanguard warclones. Assets stolen during capsuleer raids against AEGIS facilities had reportedly been traced across the cluster, with the largest concentration discovered in Caldari space.
The true extent of any cooperation between the Vanguard and elements of the Caldari State remains disputed. The Avalon itself, however, is impossible to miss.
Above the planets, capsuleers tore into Avalon Investigation sites, obliterated more than 7,000 EDENCOM Director Thunderchild vessels, and traded Resonant Cyphers to support their chosen empire. Through the efforts of capsuleers and Vanguard-aligned Caldari loyalists, the Avalon ultimately found refuge in Caldari space.
For now, it remains a quiet landmark in the Hirtamon system. What the future holds, however, remains to be seen.
