1420:Karishal Muritor Memorial
TripTik083 Expedition Highlights
Can a static statue convey strong emotions? Absolutely. In the Auga System, there exists such a statue.
Introduction
The site is quite simple: a solitary statue overlooks a Minmatar station. Anger is deeply etched into its face the anger of a great fighter who died at the hands of his own people for a cause he believed to be just.
Locations
Karishal Muritor was (and still is) considered a hero by the Tribal Republic. He was the leader of the Defiants, a special corps founded after a mutiny he led against the Republic Fleet. The Defiants believed that the Republic should have been more active against the Amarr. Karishal Muritor took matters into his own hands, stealing a supercarrier and a pair of other carriers to launch a private campaign against regions under Amarr control, sowing chaos. These actions were condemned by both the Empire and the Republic as 'terrorism.'
The Defiants were seen as traitors by the Minmatar Parliament for their refusal to back down against the Amarr when the Republic began negotiating with the Amarr Empire. Eventually, Captain Karishal Muritor’s fleet was wiped out by a Republic Fleet taskforce in the Auga system.
Today, Muritor’s image has been rehabilitated, and this site displays a monument to him.
