1420:Questionable Ethics

TripTik059 Expedition Highlights

Visit two former psychiatric facilities with a dark history.

Introduction

Back when the Ani constellation was still the home of the Nefantar tribe, long before the Minmatar Rebellion, the Amarr established several psychiatric facilities in the Lanngisi system. The most prominent of these were known as Sanctum Psychosis and The Asylum. Over time, these facilities started serving a darker purpose, including the "treatment" of political dissidents and experimentation with dangerous untested procedures. While the institutions were shuttered after the Rebellion, the Sisters of Eve have recently started using the stations for humanitarian efforts.

Locations

Before the Minmatar Rebellion, the Amarr initially established this facility to serve as a spa and mental hospital to assist people struggling with psychosis and other severe psychiatric conditions. However, as the Empire's situation with Minmatar rebels continued to deteriorate, the Amarr began throwing more and more political dissidents and other "unsavory" types into the Sanctum. The Minmatar quickly shut down the site after winning their independence, but the Sisters of Eve have recently begun using it as an aid station for refugees.

Formally named the Compulsions, Obsessions and Mania Asylum (COMA), this facility was established by the Amarr prior to the Minmatar Rebellion and became known for testing highly unorthodox treatments on patients. One experimental treatment combined invasive shock therapy with an induced coma to, in the doctors' words, "transfer the conscious to a new level." While the Minmatar made sure to shut down the facility, the Sisters of Eve have since refurbished parts of it as a refugee center.
